The Andrews Farm

Johns grandfather emigrated from Russia at age 7. Eventually he homesteaded this farm, raising wheat on 320 acres.

The rock house was built circa 1904. Johns mother and siblings were born in this house.

John grew up in the 2nd story house built later.

Creature comforts were all but absent. No indoor plumbing and electricity wasn't brought in until John was in high school.

The cellar stored goods and occasionally provided shelter from the threat of tornadoes.

Johns grandfather built all the buildings on the farm with his own hands.
