Drug Bust

While sipping coffee this AM the APD Narcotics unit and a SWAT team raided the house across the street. The bust came after weeks of surveillance and relentless reporting by neighbors. The swat team went in by way of battering ram through the front door and arrested 6 adults. The children were taken into protective custody. Several dogs and cats were removed as well. The house is a complete mess full of animal feces including dog crap in the childrens beds.  The drug du jour was heroin which they were dealing at the park by my house. APD has been at the house several times over the past few months.  I'm surprised the tenants didn't flee given the heavy police presence as it was obvious they were preparing for a bust.  The house was abandoned by its owner but not yet in foreclosure.
