Jerome is an old mining town 30 miles south of Sedona. We took an instant liking to it. There's something about a town that at one time had two dozen saloons and carousing around the clock that just sort of spoke to me. In its day, the mine produced enough copper for every human on earth to have 13 lbs. I read it on a historical marker bolted to a wall in town so it must be true.

Saloons have given way to galleries and winery's.

Wine was $7.50 by the glass and the bottle $16. Not a tough decision. Do the math.

Emboldened by the wine, I "broke bad" taunting the local authorities.
