Scooter Ride

Stuart blew the dust and cobwebs off his scoot and gave it a full nose wheel to sprocket servicing. The 2004 registration sticker marked half a decade of deep storage. Hard to believe how the time has flown by since Stu and I rode together through Idaho and Montana. Funny thing about a bike, you can toss it in the garage for 5 years, dust if off, and it'll give you just as much pleasure as the last time you saw it. None of this "You never call!" :) Anyway, it was all fortuitous for me.

Friday early am, i threw a leg over it, mashed the start button and set off on a loosely developed plan for a days ride.

The Tetons 2009.

This stretch of dirt starts just below Yellowstone and heads westward 40 miles to the backside of the Tetons. I asked a park ranger about the road conditions and he proceeded to caution me that the road was not maintained and that a jeep had just taken 4 hours to cross it. Ok, the ranger was a bit off - more like 1 1/2 hours.

The only significant obstacle on the route.

Green and yellow
that's our colors
we won't have any other colors
except green, and yellow
green, and yellow
